The new home of the Spanish Grand Prix is grabbing headlines for the wrong reasons.
Footage has surfaced showing a van involved in a strange crash at the new Madring circuit in Madrid, intended to host the Spanish Grand Prix this year. Local media in Madrid released a video of a white van speeding on a section of the circuit, skidding off the track, crashing through a sign, and getting stuck in the gravel. Despite the incident, the Spanish Grand Prix is set to take place from September 11 to 13, but there is still construction underway at the circuit. The van’s crash during the construction phase is not ideal for the venue, which is under time pressure to be completed. While progress has been made at the Madring, a significant amount of work still needs to be done before the Grand Prix. You can watch the footage of the van crash below.
